SUMMARY:TA.DH.AM: A PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION FROM YEMEN
DESCRIPTION:ta.dh.am (تَضَام) is an Arabic word from the root verb ضَمَمَ (dha-ma-ma). The word poetically stands for holding onto one another\, coming together — to embrace. Cohesion can be seen in communities taking care of their members\, but can also be seen in abstract forms. How can this word be visualized in means of photography? What stories can be narrated? \nCALL FOR PARTICIPATION\nDEADLINE TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS: 01.11.2022   \nTaking the word ta.dh.am as a departure point\, the Goethe-Institutes in Amman and Bonn launch an open call for participation in a photographic exhibition that celebrates the multifaceted cultures of Yemen. \nThis is an invitation to mid-advanced level Yemen-based photographers and artists working with photography as a medium to envision the word ta.dh.am in a visual formand to produce a new body of work that responds to this theme. The body of work should be composed of a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 images.    \nFive participants will be selected by an external independent jury to showcase their work in an exhibition that will take place in Germany in December 2022. In addition\, the selected participants will be offered a networking opportunity by travelling to Germany to meet members of the culture and art scene.
